O V E R V I E W

Intuitive Surgical is a global medical technology leader and the pioneer of robotic-assisted surgery, best known for creating the da Vinci Surgical System. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, the company designs products that let doctors perform complex operations through tiny incisions with high precision.

Since 2022, I’ve been part of Intuitive’s Data & Digital group, playing a key role on the Digital Design System team. My focus spanned production, documentation, and library management — keeping the team’s Figma and Sitecore CMS environments aligned across more than three years of releases.

R O L E S & C O N T R I B U T I O N S

I owned and evolved the team’s Figma libraries, covering components and foundational elements such as typography, icons, color, and utilities, working closely with the broader Design System team to keep them current and in strong parity with their React code counterparts.

I also built the reusable design libraries that powered the documentation workflow, enabling designers and the team’s copywriter to produce comprehensive documentation — component specs, design patterns, and the foundational design language — which I published to the Sitecore CMS with each release. Alongside this, I collaborated closely with the design system development team to design and build new CMS templates and widgets that the wider team relied on daily, balancing usability with visual polish.

I M P A C T

Over this period, the Design System grew adoption from 1 to 25 product teams, with component library downloads climbing from 6,600 to 43,000 (2022–2026 year-to-date). This growth delivered a 30.6% ROI and $6.5M in net projected savings across design and engineering.
